Facebook Against Social Networking Privacy Act

Dear Blog,

Facebook knows where to invest its money and of course there must be a necessary reason for it.  Recently Facebook has spent $6,600 dollars lobbying against California state officials to kill the Social Networking Privacy Act.

The Act would impose civil penalizes on social networks which display home addresses and phone numbers of users under the age of 18 years.

“Facebook’s California lobbying report included an expense for dinner with the majority leader of the state Assembly, Charles Calderon.  Yet, Charles decided to move forward with the bill.

Facebook has and will try to implement any regulations that may affect the internet privacy settings, especially Social Networking Privacy Act, which would have affected the company directly.

Facebook has come a long way since it started, and grew quite rapidly.  Thus is it very important for the company to fight hard against such regulations which may hurt them essentially.
